Aldabra giant turtle Mauritius
Aldabra giant turtle Mauritius
Aldabra giant turtle is the only remaining giant turtle species remaining in the western part of Indian Ocean. All others species have been considered as extinct on 1840 due to the pressure of the European navigators. The only remaining one is the Aldabra turtle coming from the Aldabra atoll in Seychelles where tenths thousands are in the wild. Here this individual is shot in the Ile aux Aigrettes Mauritius reserve.
