Tjibaou Cultural Center in New-Caledonia is the place that must be visited to have a better understanding of the original local culture present since centuries on this South Pacific island : the Melanesian Kanak culture. It is a very pleasant place to visit either in the gardens that surround a modern building where local art is exposed and where a very complete library dedicated to Melanesian history and culture can be consulted. A Kanak traditional village has also been reconstructed, an opportunity to discover with a guide tribal Chief and ceremonies huts.
