Sardinia Asinara island

Asinara is a 51 square kilometers island located at the North-Ouest of Sardinia , the largest Italian island. If the island has served since year 1985 as a prison for criminals, politicians, terrorists,  immigrants and mafia leaders. Asinara is,  since the beginning of the 21 th century, a National Park where nature is protected on earth as well as at sea. Indeef around the island and on a short distance of 2 miles all activities are forbidden or controlled. For this reason, it has become a paradise for a lot of species like  Corsican gulls, wild goats, White Donkeys, Ibex and many others as it's always the case when anthropic pressure is under control. The island can be reached from different harbors located in the Asinara's gulf such as Stintino at a few miles or Porto Torres. It is forbidden to stay at night on the island and visitors must leave at the end of the day. Coast is equipped with moorings to welcome leisure boats. It is forbidden to drop the anchor at any place around the island.
